Approval of KONWIHR projects 2026/1

We are pleased to announce that from the 2026/1 application round, six new projects with a funding volume of 300,000 € have been approved:

  • Accelerating General Relativistic Radiative Transfer for Astrophysical Plasma Simulations – Dr. Fromm (U Würzburg)
  • Development and optimization of the simulation-based deep-learning framework for single-channel patch-clamp data analysis – PD Dr. Huth (FAU)
  • Quanten-KI-basierte Klassifikation und Zustandsbewertung von Photovoltaikmodulen mittels Infrarotthermografie – Prof. Liebelt (TH Deggendorf)

  • Efficient treatment of mineralogical effects in massively parallel high performance simulations of convection in Earth’s mantle – Prof. Schuberth (LMU)
  • Interfaces for Scalable Mixed-Mesh Multiphysics Problems on HPC Systems – Prof. Wall (TUM)
